South Carolina has been home for AnneMarie since 2001. Her favorite part of the state is Lake Jocassee. An App State alumna, it's always the mountains; the lake bonus makes it heavenly. When not writing about the state, she may be spending time with family, relaxing by the pool, or out somewhere enjoying nature.
Whether you are looking for a custom cake for an upcoming special occasion, treats for a meeting, or maybe just a little something to satisfy your sweet tooth, Whipped Sweets & Treats is a sweet shop bakery in South Carolina that’s got you covered. Its owner, Tyaila Gilmore, better known as Ty, worked as a cake decorator for Bi-Lo for about 15 years before going out on her own when Bi-Lo was bought out by Food Lion. The changes that resulted were frustrating for both her and her clientele. Now, through Whipped Sweets & Treats, she is able to better serve the needs of clients. You’re in for a real treat with this sweet shop.
You're going to find Whipped Sweets & Treats on Rodriguez Street in Orangeburg. Don't let its unassuming outward appearance fool you ... just wait until you step inside!
If you've got a special occasion and need a cake, Whipped Sweets & Treats will prepare a custom cake or cupcakes with whipped or buttercream icing that is a perfect fit! Be sure to plan ahead to allow plenty of time in case a lot of orders come in and Ty gets booked up.
You'll certainly want to try something while you're here, even if to order a cake, such as an ice cream sundae. The classic banana split is popular or if you'd like to try something new and creative, there's always the Shuga Mama, "the ultimate ice cream overload!"
Cheesecake lovers will be delighted by the gourmet cheesecake slices. Choose from original, cookies and cream, turtle, strawberry, apple caramel, cotton candy, or blueberry.
How about a parfait? This is the snicker overload, but other options include blueberry, strawberry banana pudding, banana pudding, raspberry, strawberry shortcake, brownie, and lemon.
Another new and fun treat that has become quite the food trend recently is the dragon breath balls. When you eat them, smoke comes from your mouth and nose ... just like with dragons.
