Wyoming's Most Historic Watering Hole Has Been A Landmark For 120 Years

Back in 1900, Laramie was a young town full of people making a new life out west. Like any good cowboys, these folks demanded a good place to drink and socialize – and the Buckhorn Bar was born. For nearly 120 years, this downtown watering hole has been a part of Laramie history, and it’s so worth a visit today.

The Buckhorn Bar was established in Laramie in 1900, as a place for trappers, travelers, and cowboys to drink, dine, and relax after a long day.

The bar quickly became famous throughout the state, and it's certainly seen its share of wild moments! You can still see a bullet hole in the bar mirror from a 1971 shootout.

Today, the bar celebrates its western heritage and history with taxidermy on the walls and a true Saloon atmosphere.

You'll almost always find a crowd here at Laramie's most historic watering hole. The bartenders are known for their exceptionally friendly service.

Many nights, you'll find live entertainment here. The Buckhorn is truly a Wyoming institution after nearly 120 years in the same spot.
