Wyoming is such a beautiful state that sometimes it seems that the landscape could only lie deep within your dreams or imagination. Nature has blessed this state with some of the most breathtaking views and otherworldly geological formations. Here are some of those places.
1. Grand Canyon Of The Yellowstone
The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone is the most powerful and breathtaking sight inside Yellowstone National Park. The canyon is about 900 feet deep and a half mile in width. It's hard to believe a place like this exists even in your wildest dreams.
2. Jackson Lake In Fall
It's rare that you get to see so much consistency in color when it comes to trees in the fall. The reflection in the lake makes it even more impressive.
3. Geysers
The geysers in Yellowstone produce some of the most vibrant colors making them appear otherworldly. The stunning colors are due to the bacteria build-up in the geyser. It's amazing that something so beautiful can come from something that usually is associated with disease. Again, only in your imagination would you expect to see something like this.

This is something else that looks as if it has been pulled from your imagination. The terraces at Mammoth Hot Springs are made of crystallized calcium carbonate.

Old Faithful erupts every 44 to 125 minutes. This is a very predictable geothermal feature that is an unbelievable and an incredible act of nature to witness, especially at night with its ethereal appearance.

The Moulton Barn and backdrop is one of the most photographed places in the country. This is another place that is one of the most powerful and breathtaking sites in Wyoming.
7. Taggart Lake
This is a picture-perfect place with its combination of color and reflection. Taggart Lake is one of the original six lakes in Grand Teton National Park. It covers 110 acres and averages 80 ft. deep. It's a natural lake formed about 12,000 years ago.
8. Gardner Lake
Here's another lake that seems almost otherworldly. The bluish-green tint of the lake in contrast to the stark surroundings make this another dream-like place. Gardner Lake can be viewed from Beartooth Highway.
9. East Fork Of Wind River
This view of the East Fork of Wind River near Dubois is dream-like with the beautiful contrast of the blue water against its frozen white surroundings. This looks like a fairy tale setting.
10. Boar's Tusk
This amazing formation is the core of an extinct volcano. It's located in Sweetwater County, near the Killpecker Sand Dunes.
11. Devils Tower
This spot in Wyoming will really make you feel as if you're on another planet. In fact, this was even the setting for "Close Encounters of the Third Kind".
12. Killpecker Sand Dunes

It's hard enough to imagine a desert in Wyoming, but especially one like this. Killpecker Sand Dunes is almost Mars-like at sunset.
13. Tee-Pee Fountain At Hot Springs State Park
Check out this unusual formation at Hot Springs State Park. The TeePee Fountain is a large mound of rock covered in travertine.
14. Hells Half Acre
Hells Half Acre is a geologic oddity. This unusual formation is made up of deep ravines and caves. These 320 acres in Wyoming is a very odd setting.
