Sometimes getting away from it all means trekking to the middle of nowhere, but when you wind up at a luxury resort, you won’t miss civilization one little bit. Such is the case when you book a stay at the Wyoming hotel out on the picturesque plains of the Wyoming high desert less than 10 miles from the Medicine Bow National Forest. Peace, quiet, and breathtaking views surround the entire property. Yet, along with all the solitude you could want, there are tons of activities to fill your time when you visit. Offering the perfect balance of leisure and adventure, the Magee Homestead is one of the best getaways on Earth.
Under 10 miles west of the Medicine Bow National Forest sits a heavenly little resort secluded from the rest of the world.
The property was at times a ranch and a cow camp back in the early days of the Cowboy State.

There are nine luxury cabins scattered around the homestead. Every last one has been restored to offer modern comforts while retaining the historic ambiance.
Guests can book a suite, one of the full residences, or the entire homestead can be rented out to accommodate up to 27 people for a private luxury retreat.
What's more, there are creek-side patios behind the row of cabins where the music of the babbling creek sets the ideal mood for enjoying the solitude.
The Magee Homestead is one of those places you may have put off visiting because it's in the middle of nowhere but, once you make the trip, you'll never want to leave.
The resort is typically open to guests from late May through October, but the staff keeps regular business hours year-round so you can book a summer or fall reservation any time. Just call the Magee Homestead at 307-327-2031.
