The Winter Village In Wyoming That Will Enchant You Beyond Words
Wyoming in the winter is something magical, and it’s easy to understand why we live here year-round, despite the frigid temperatures and brutal wind. When you’re looking to truly experience some wintertime magic, head west, towards the mighty Teton mountains. Here, you’ll find Jackson – where a winter day is a day in paradise.

One of Wyoming's top destinations is known for gourmet restaurants, welcoming locals, unique boutiques and shops, as well as some of the best winter recreation around.

Downtown Jackson is one of the most walkable towns in the West. You'll find local shops and stores selling everything from warm mountain clothing to homemade gourmet treats, and you'll love the people you meet along the way.

If you can get away during the week, you'll save lots on lodging. If not, though, shop around! While there are certainly expensive, luxury resorts in town, it's not impossible to find a nice place to stay within any budget.

It opened as a bar in the 1930s, and never looked back. You'll find a menu of bar bites and a drink list that is sure to please anyone in your party. Really, though, the crowd makes this place absolutely unforgettable!

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and Snow King Mountain are in Jackson itself, and the famous Grand Targhee is just an hour outside of town, nestled up against Grand Teton itself.

There are plenty of opportunites for skiing, tubing, snowboarding, fat biking, and snowmobiling in some of the country's most pristine mountain areas.

While the drive is less than 5 minutes from the center of town, if the weather is nice, it's a beautiful bike ride to take!

If you've (somehow) never heard an elk bugle, be prepared to laugh at the impressive and dissonant sounds these guys make!

Sure, it might not be as wild as the rest of the state, and the (extremely classy!) restaurants are a lot different than our typical local saloons, but that's one thing that makes Jackson truly special. It's not often that you can take a trip to an entirely different world without ever leaving your home state!
Does a piece of your heart belong in Jackson, Wyoming? Mine, too! I’ll never forget my first visit – the sight of town was a welcome relief after a long road trip across the state. Where’s your favorite winter destination in Wyoming?
