If you’re looking for a family-friendly day trip idea near Casper, Wyoming, head to the Werner Wildlife Museum! It’s home to a unique collection of wildlife displays that teach all about the world around you.
You'll find the fascinating Werner Wildlife Museum in Casper, at Casper College. It's one of the most interesting places for a day trip, and both kids and adults will enjoy their time spent here.
Since 1970, the collection hosted by the wildlife museum has expanded to include over 400 birds, fish, and other animals. There is also a garden and picnic area with plenty of bird feeders, so a visit to the museum offers plenty to keep you occupied all day.
Most of the collections focus on native Wyoming wildlife, so during your visit you'll learn lots about critters you can see in your own neighborhood. You'll also learn basic tracking and identification skills.
One of the museum's most popular taxidermies is Snowflake, an albino mule deer. She was a living legend, and even now, people come to visit to see her beautiful and strange lack of pigmentation.
