If you’re looking for a one of a kind adventure here in the Cowboy State, plan a trip to visit Hot Springs State Park. This enormous park in Thermopolis offers some of the most unique hot spring terraces in the world, and the trail network is outstanding.
Every year, thousands of Wyomingites visit Hot Spring State Park, where the world's largest mineral hot spring offers stunning natural scenery.
Back in the earliest days of American westward expansion, settlers in Thermopolis created the Tepee Fountain by piping mineral water up through the ground and straight into the air. This photo shows the fountain in 1920.
Now, after decades, the fountain is one of the most recognizable features in the state! As the water evaporates, it leaves behind travertine deposits that create the large landmark.
