Over the years, we’ve all heard the complaining about how the Jackson Hole valley has lost its western charm. There’s been too much development, too many tourists moving in, and the spirit of the town has changed. While we don’t necessarily agree, and we think that Jackson is still one of the best places on Earth, some people may want to plan a more rustic, old-fashioned, Rocky Mountain getaway and try a different town. If that sounds dreamy to you, mark your calendar for a getaway to Dubois.
Driving into Dubois will make you feel like you've really found the West. This town is located at the foothills of the Wind River Range and is truly a gateway to a great Rocky Mountain getaway.
Just about every business in town is here to remind you of the area's history, whether that be the Indigenous history of those who lived here for centuries, or the more recent Cowboy history.
If you love venturing outdoors, you'll find everything you need in town. Wind River Gear will make sure you're all set for your fishing trip, hike, or camp out.
