You can buy doughnuts by the dozen at any supermarket, but if you want to experience an honest-to-goodness tasty treat, you need to find a shop that specializes in the deep-fried delicacies. Doughnut shops aren’t as abundant or easy to find as they were in the past, but there’s still an exceptional one hiding in the mountains of Wyoming.
Delish Doughnuts is tucked away in the tiny town of Alpine, just across the Idaho/Wyoming border in the foothills at the south end of the Snake River Canyon. It’s certainly an out-of-the-way place, but for those who appreciate especially delicious doughnuts, it’s worth every mile and minute to make the trip.
The best little doughnut shop in Wyoming can be found at 141 US-89 in Alpine.
The offerings at Delish include regular-sized doughnuts, mini doughnuts, and doughnut holes.

The goodies at this shop are freshly made each and every day, but you gotta come in early. Alpine may be a teeny little town, but the doughnuts are so good, there have been a few times when they've run out before the close of business.
Alongside traditional chocolate and vanilla glazed with sprinkles, you might find jelly doughnuts drizzled with peanut butter icing, ones sprinkled with M&M's or crushed candy bars, or the exceptional blueberry doughnuts, a local favorite.
The owner and master doughnut maker at Delish enjoys flexing her creative muscles to develop new, addictive flavor combinations all of the time, such as the popular blueberry maple bacon doughnut.
Plus, since there's never been a better pair than coffee and doughnuts, you can also get great coffee drinks - hot or iced - to go along with your pastries.
