Medicine Bow Peak, Bomber Mountain, and Sugarloaf Mountain are all visible as your wind your way through the Snowy Range Scenic Byway, which runs between Saratoga and Laramie.
Right in the middle, you'll find the town of Centennial. This tiny town is packed with history and things to do, along with scenery and a small town way of life that's sure to capture your heart.
When you roll into town, you'll feel like you've rolled back in time to the Wild West! Stay at a dude ranch outside of town and enjoy a Cowboy-inspired meal at the Old Corral Restaurant and Steakhouse. You'll immediately feel welcomed here.
Head out to explore the forest, where stunning views and well-maintained trails take you far from the crowds that you'll find in other national parks and forests in Colorado and Wyoming.
The Centennial Depot, or Nici Self Museum, offers a glimpse of the history in the region. You'll learn so much and get to see fascinating artifacts from days gone by.
Of course, since this is the Snowy Range, you've got to prepare yourself for winter weather even in the fall. If you're lucky, a snow squall will bring a beautiful blanket of white to the mountains.
The small deli and store in town is called the Friendly Store, which really tells you all you need to know about the people here. You'll be welcomed with open arms as someone looking to enjoy this slice of heaven.
If you’re looking for a place to bring the whole family, plan a trip to Centennial and fall in love with this often-overlooked corner of the Cowboy State.
