Wyomingites love their meat, and there’s nothing better than sitting down to a delicious steak dinner in a charming, rustic setting. Fortunately, just about every town in the state has at least one steakhouse, some formal and others more downhome.
There’s an extra-unique meat lovers restaurant in the little town of Dubois. Set inside a delightful log building, the Rustic Pine Steakhouse is just what you picture when you think of a typical Wyoming-country eatery. The décor is all wood and rock, very rustic and so inviting. Plus, with a menu chock-full of meat (even two-thirds of the salads include steak or pork!), it’s a carnivore’s dream come true.
Editor’s Note: Rustic Pine Steakhouse is permanently closed.
Nestled in between the Shoshone National Forest and the Wind River Reservation is the tiny town of Dubois - home of one of the most rustic steakhouses in the state.
The Rustic Pine Steakhouse is at 123 East Ramshorn in Dubois, Wyoming. It's open from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday through Monday and closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Aptly called the Rustic Pine, "rustic" is right there in the name. Not only does the outside of the building fit the description, but the inside doesn't disappoint, either. The walls around the homey stone fireplace look like reclaimed barn wood, and the chairs and tables bring to mind furniture from an old cabin or ranch.
What's more, the Rustic Pine is definitely the place to go when you're in the mood for meat. The menu is filled with it - everything from burgers to wings, seafood to steaks.
The atmosphere is just as rustic, but with more of a bar and grill vibe. You can order off the Rustic Pine menu and enjoy your meal in either establishment.
If you're in the area, it's a dining experience you won't forget and, even if you're not nearby, the menu at the Rustic Pine is definitely worth the drive.
