When it comes to choosing the most iconic food in Wyoming, if you ask a dozen people, you’ll likely get a dozen answers. Many of us think first of chokecherries, while others daydream of bison and elk. One thing that’s for certain, though, is that prime rib is somewhere on every Cowboy State resident’s list.
Everyone in Wyoming has an idea of what the best prime rib plate looks like, from choosing sides to their favorite style of cut, and how they like it cooked.
In fact, many Wyoming families pass down their traditional prime rib recipes, and everyone seems to make theirs with their own secret blend of spices and seasonings.
You also can't forget the au jus! Take the juices left from roasting the beef, add some wine, Worcester sauce, and whatever else your recipe calls for to create a delicious gravy.
