The Cowboy State is clearly the best state in the nation! Check out a few of our favorite reasons to love Wyoming and all it has to offer, below.
1. Our small towns are full of charm...
...and all of our towns are small towns! You'll learn to love these communities where everyone knows your name.
2. There's history everywhere you look.
From ghost towns to dinosaur track sites, Wyoming's history is on display. You can even walk through ruts dug into the ground along the Oregon Trail, and visit petroglyph sites created hundreds of years ago.
3. Even though we're a landlocked state, there's plenty of water to play in.
Wyoming's reservoirs and lakes are huge attractions here. Whether you like to go sailing or kayaking, or just hit the water to fish, you'll find a great spot to drop in no matter where you go. And, as a bonus, many of our alpine lakes make great skating rinks in the winter!
4. It's easy to warm up, even in the middle of our brutal winters.
Wyoming is home to so much geothermal activity. Granite Hot Springs in Jackson are accessible via snowmobile, ski, or dog sled. Thermopolis is home to a naturally-heated public pool, and the town of Saratoga founded a resort based around their natural hot springs!
5. Natural beauty is never far.
Whether you like to visit our national parks, national forests, or state parks, you'll find stunning natural wonders in every corner of the state.
6. Traffic jams are non-existent... for the most part.
We've all been caught in a bison jam (or, more annoyingly, a bear jam), but for the most part, you won't have to worry about traffic here in Wyoming.
7. Our cuisine is top-notch.
Come visit a cookout or pitchfork fondue to try a rustic meal, or hit up your local steakhouse to find the best prime rib you've ever had.
8. Our roadside attractions are unlike anywhere else.
We've got a fossil cabin, a bizarre stick-and-log mansion, pyramids in the middle of nowhere, and remnants of railroad history, and it all makes every road trip more interesting.
9. We've got seasons!
You'll experience a (muddy) spring, a (sometimes snowy) summer, a (beautiful, actually!) fall, and a (ok, let's not talk about it too much) winter here in Wyoming. We're one of the lucky states that gets it all!
10. We're one of a few states that still has "wild" horses.
See them in the mountains near Cody or down by Rock Springs on the Wild Horse Loop road.
11. There's no better place to go snowmobiling.
There's a reason the major sled manufacturers test their machines on our mountains! The Snowy Range in particular is famous for its miles and miles of marked and unmarked trail.
12. We're one of the Fly Fishing capitals of the world.
Our winding, wild, and scenic rivers are famous for their trout.
13. We know how to party on the weekends.
We might not have an NFL team, but our favorite sports are a little more intense than football, anyway.
14. We share the state with the most amazing wildlife.
Wyoming's wildlife includes bears, elk, moose, mule deer, and more - and we're lucky to share the state with each of these critters.
