Looking through historic photos of Wyoming is so much fun! Take a peek at these images from the 1960s and check out what has changed and what has stayed the same right here in the Cowboy State.
Wyoming is a state that prides itself on its old fashioned lifestyle, but it's hard to see just how much has changed unless you take a glimpse back in time.
Over the years, a whole lot has changed the landscape of the Cowboy State. Do you recognize this picture of the Cheyenne Opera House? This landmark building was first opened in 1882, but by the 1960s, it had been converted into apartments. It was torn down in 1961.
One thing that's stayed the same over the decades? The Wyoming State Fair! The fair is held every year in Douglas and really shows off our Cowboy State pride.
No glimpse back at Wyoming's past would be complete without a view of Thermopolis! This town is all about hot springs and dinosaurs, making it a favorite of nearly anyone who has ever visited.
These historic photos of Wyoming are so fun to flip through! Do you have a family album of pictures from the past? Dig it out and pour over the pictures next time the Wyoming weather keeps you indoors.
