When you think you’ve done everything there is to do in western Wyoming, think again! There’s a hidden hike near Jackson that shows off stunning views of the Tetons and a gorgeous alpine lake. Take the Goodwin Lake Trail for an afternoon of peace and quiet in the wilderness.
This out-and-back trail outside of Jackson takes you to one of the best hidden-gem lakes in Wyoming - Goodwin Lake!
You'll gain about 1,400 feet of elevation, making this a moderately difficult hike. Because of the length, though, if you take your time just about anyone can enjoy this trek.
When you finally arrive at the lake, take some time to relax here and dip your toes in the water. It might be chilly, but it'll feel great after a hike! There are plenty of smooth rocks to sit on while you enjoy the fresh mountain air.
If you don't want to leave, there are some backcountry campsites available, too. Check with the Forest Service to find out more about how to camp back at Goodwin Lake safely.
