Get ready for an all-day haunted adventure in Wyoming that will take you through a haunted prison then dining with the ghosts at a historic hotel. You’ll start off your creepy excursion with a tour at the Wyoming Frontier Prison in Rawlins, one of the most haunted spots in the entire state. Then, you’ll travel a few hours north and dine with spirits at the historic Occidental Hotel in Buffalo. Are you ready for a spooktacular time?
We’re kicking off this haunted adventure in Wyoming with a stop by the Wyoming Frontier Prison in Rawlins. Take a guided tour of this prison and learn all about the beginnings in the late 1800s early 1900s.
However, what made this prison haunted was the fact that 14 death sentences were carried out over the years, including nine hangings and five gas chamber deaths.
It’s been said that many of the spirits still roam the prison to this day, which is what makes touring this spot so surreal, especially during the Halloween season.
After visiting the Frontier Prison, you’ll travel north for three hours to get to the historic Occidental Hotel in Buffalo. This might be a trek for most, so see if you can spend the night after you dine!
The historic saloon is where most of the fun took place, but it’s been said that several scary spirits still roam these halls. Once the site of a bloody skirmish, this hotel has been dubbed one of the most haunted spots in the state!
You can order up delicious plates of pasta, seared steaks, and seafood galore, while maybe keeping an eye out for roaming spirits. While we can’t guarantee there will be any ghosts sitting down for a salmon dish any time soon, it’s still fun to imagine this site and what it was like many moons ago.
