As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
Camping is a great way to explore Wyoming’s natural beauty up close, but not everyone is keen on sleeping in a tent. While some folks prefer fancy hotel stays, others prefer to step right back into the 1800s and sleep in a covered wagon. There’s a ranch right here that lets you do just that, and you’re going to want to pay it a visit soon.
Welcome to Goosewing Ranch, where you'll find wide, open spaces and the most unique camping experience ever.
Address: 24400 Cottonwood Creek Road, Kelly, WY, 83011
This beautiful ranch is pretty isolated, tucked away in the Gros Ventre River Valley. You'll enjoy plenty of modern amenities here, but you'll also have the chance to unplug and unwind - there's no cell service or Internet at this ranch.
While you might feel like a pioneer, the accommodations are pretty luxurious. Enjoy soft, comfy beds, propane lights, electricity, and propane heaters to keep you warm and snuggly.
Each wagon has its own little bath house, complete with a hot shower, flush toilet, and sink with vanity. The bath house has electricity so you can dry your hair and shave with your electric razor. This might be the remote wilderness, but you'll still be pampered.
During the day, you'll find plenty to do on the ranch. Horseback riding is the main activity during the summer, but you'll also find a heated pool here. Go hiking, mountain biking, or take one of the ranch's Polaris UTV Rangers to explore.
Your meals are all prepared by a chef, using Dutch ovens, grills, and open fire. The portions are hearty and the service is friendly. During your stay, you'll also have your own personal ranger to show you around.
