There’s something magical about Wyoming, and it takes some exploring to discover all the hidden wonders out here. The state is home to more than a dozen wilderness areas, so there’s plenty to see if you’re willing to check it out! Lace up your boots and head out on one Cloud Peak Wilderness hike that’s sure to take your breath away.
You'll start off your adventure at West Tensleep Lake. There's a campground here, so many people stay the night and start off their day with this hike into the wilderness .
Follow the Lost Twin Lakes Trail across meadows and up into the mountains. While the trek is just over 10 miles out and back, it's not particularly strenuous.
Many people choose to camp here for the night because they never want to leave. Others enjoy the serenity they find here and then head back down the mountain, happy to discover one of Wyoming's best kept secrets.
Many people dream about completing a Cloud Peak Wilderness hike, and this one is relatively easy. You can find trail information from the Bighorn National Forest website, here, or visit AllTrails. Be sure to carry bear spray, and if you’ve never camped in the backcountry, bring an experienced friend if you plan to stay the night.
