Buffalo is a city in Johnson County located in northern Wyoming. The town is made up of 4.46 square miles and is home to over 4,500 residents.

Another feature of The Historic Occidental Hotel is the Virginian Restaurant. The restaurant is named after Owen Wister's novel, "The Virginian".

Even the architecture exudes so much character. The Carnegie Public Library was built in 1909 and features a raised main floor and large basement area. In the 80s, the Jim Gatchell Memorial Museum moved into the library.

Adjacent to the library is the Johnson County Courthouse which was built in 1884. It is the 2nd oldest functioning county courthouse in Wyoming.

It was constructed in 1889 of red brick in the Gothic Revival style.
