Plan to bring enough water for your stay, or filter water with a purification system to use for cooking, bathing, and drinking.
The highlight of any stay at Brooks Lake is the sheer peacefulness of the namesake lake.
With its crystal clear waters, it truly is a natural wonder.
If you're here to catch fish, you're in luck! Paddle out and you'll have a seemingly endless supply of trout nipping at your line.

Much like the world-famous Brooks Falls in Alaska's Katmai National Park, Wyoming's Brooks Lake is a favorite destination of grizzly bears. If you plan to hike here, be sure to come in a group, make plenty of noise, and carry bear spray. It's important, as always, to be vigilant about food safety and store anything with a scent in your car or in a bear box.
The campsites are first come, first served, and stay open throughout the season, until snow impedes travel.
If you're looking for the ultimate wilderness escape in Wyoming, far from the crowded parks and city campgrounds, spend a few nights at Brooks Lake.
