If you’re looking for the best steaks in the state, you’ll have some distance to travel, though. Way out in Fremont County, you’ll find one of the best steakhouses in the world.


The Svilars owned a bar and pool parlor, and when Bessie started cooking, the place was booming with business. Mama Svilar served her meals as "all you can eat" feasts, and though she passed away in 1981, her family has kept up the tradition by serving enormous portions.

The menu includes 11 different types of steaks, and each dinner is served with salad, a side of your choice (fries, baked potato or brown rice), steamed veggies, rolls, sarma and Mama Svilar's famous ravioli.

The dinner steak is a crowd favorite, but if there's still prime rib around, you can't go wrong feasting on that either.

Svilar's is located at 173 Main St., Hudson, WY 82520 and is open Tuesday through Saturday from 4:45 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. They are closed Sundays and Mondays.
