Wyoming’s small towns really know how to steal the show when it comes to restaurants. Sure, Jackson and Cheyenne have big fancy steakhouses and gourmet bistros, but the best food in the state can be found in the saloons and cafes of the tinier towns. Visit the Black Bear Cafe to try a restaurant in Thermopolis that’s sure to blow your tastebuds way.
The Black Bear Cafe is located in downtown Thermopolis, just a block from the Hot Springs County Museum and a short drive from Star Plunge, Hot Springs State Park, and the Wyoming Dinosaur Center.
Everyone always says breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and their kitchen is open early! Order made-from-scratch pancakes or a delicious and flavorful omelette to start your morning.
On weekends, the cafe is open through lunch, and sometimes dinner. Breakfast is still the star, though, and you can try their fresh blueberry and strawberry crepes on Saturday and Sunday.
Order a light lunch that's packed with flavor when you choose any of their signature salads. The bacon blue cheese chicken salad is one of their more popular menu items.
