The Alaska Basin Trail is a 17-mile loop trail. It is located just west of Grand Teton National Park.

As you begin this hike, you will explore the lush, thick Jedediah Smith Wilderness within the Caribou-Targhee National Forest.

As you hike, you will climb over all types of terrain including large aspen groves, meadows, and bare rock.

Make lots of noise as you hike and come equipped with bear spray. It isn’t uncommon to see large animals such as bears and moose near the trail.
