Food shows are kind of addictive. It’s fascinating to watch something delicious being prepared or to go behind the scenes into the kitchen of a unique restaurant.
Wyoming is filled with just the sort of cafés and diners food TV likes to spotlight. With national attention on the uncommon dishes and comfortable surroundings, our restaurants have become a bit famous. Even if you haven’t eaten at these delicious Wyoming eateries, you probably know about them from television.
1. Lotus Café, 145 North Glenwood Street, Jackson
The Lotus Café has taken the idea of ethnic cuisine to a new level. Not only does it serve up crave-worthy Asian-inspired dishes like Thai curry soup, but it has put a Wyoming twist on some old favorites, like the Asian bison bowl.
2. Nora's Fish Creek Inn, 5600 West HWY-22, Wilson
Nora's is the only eatery on the list that isn't in Jackson, but it's still in the Jackson Hole vicinity. If you're in the area, you won't have to drive very far to try out dishes this little café-in-a-cabin is known for such as the mouthwatering beef stroganoff or fish tacos. Nora's is also notorious for putting out terrific breakfasts. Whether you stick with a traditional omelet and hashbrowns or try the banana bread French toast, you'll be satisfied.
3. Picas Mexican Taqueria, 1160 Alpine Lane, Jackson
There are several tasty Mexican restaurants in Jackson, but Picas is the place that attracted the attention of TV chef Guy Fieri. His show highlighted menu favorites such as the posole and chicken sopes which are both delicious, but locals love the wet burritos.
4. Pinky G's Pizzeria, 50 West Broadway, Jackson
Pinky G's is tucked away in a plaza just off the main square in Jackson. It's built a name for itself putting out HUGE pies topped with anything you like but, if you feel like trying something new, order a pizza with pesto, artichoke hearts, or chicken and drizzled with a tasty balsamic reduction.
5. Sidewinders Tavern, 945 West Broadway, Jackson
Sidewinders' specialty is combining an inviting pub atmosphere with craveable comfort food. Yes, you can get great burgers and fries here, but you'll also love the mac 'n cheese, homemade pretzels, and chicken pot pie.
6. Snake River Brewery, 265 South Milward Street, Jackson
Not only does Snake River Brewery serve award-winning locally brewed beer, but it has the finger-licking food to go along with it. The pastas, pizzas, tacos, and nachos are out of this world, but be sure to try the bison burger or the Roper - the house's own bacon-topped spicy brisket sandwich.
7. Café Genevieve, 135 East Broadway Avenue, Jackson
You won't be able to get enough of the everything-made-from-scratch menu at Café Genevieve. They do a great brunch business serving delectable favorites like biscuits and gravy and grits and eggs, and their chicken and waffles are a noteworthy standout. Lunch and supper offer equally tasty dishes like the pork ragu and the ramen bowl, also entirely fresh and house-made.
