With fast-food restaurants and gas stations around every corner, ice cream is easy to find these days. However, nothing beats a classic ice cream parlor experience. And if you’re craving that experience, you’ve got to check out The Windmill Ice Cream Shoppe. In business for decades, a visit to the iconic ice cream shop is a tradition for many – and with a huge flavor selection and even bigger portions, it’s easy to see why! Take a look:
Located in Tomahawk, The Windmill Ice Cream Shoppe has been satisfying sweet tooths since 1993.
Your decision-making doesn’t end with the flavors, though. There are also several cones to choose from, including cake, sugar, and waffle. Of course, you can always get your ice cream in a bowl.
Picnic tables and a gazebo provide the perfect spot to enjoy your sweet treat – and the surroundings, which are pretty idyllic since The Windmill Ice Cream Shoppe is located near Lake Nokomis.
To really soak up the scenery, go for a stroll down the bike trail that runs right by the ice cream shop. The easy-to-traverse path leads to a trestle bridge, which spans the Lake Nokomis channel.
The Windmill Ice Cream Shoppe is open seasonally April – September. For more information, call (715) 579-8227. You can also visit The Windmill Ice Cream Shoppe Facebook page.
