Ghost stories that are based on real, verifiable facts are the ones that give me the most creeps – I’ve got goosebumps just writing this. Maybe it’s not the scariest story ever told, but it’s all the more terrifying for the fact that you can research the story and know at least some of it is true.
Up in Siren, a family suffered a tragic accident and area folks claim they’ve been hearing from the family ever since.
This ghost story is known as the Siren Bridge story, though that might be a misleading title. Legend says a family - mom, dad and a young daughter - slipped on icy roads and put their car over a bridge in the 1980s in Siren.
Ever since, folks driving in the same area have experienced eerie sensations.
And they claim their car radio is interrupted and they hear a child's voice "Mommy, I can't get out!"
Just typing it is enough to scare me, but multiple people have reported similar occurrences.
Skeptical of the story, ghost hunters have researched in Siren and found the actual accident - it was Rick and Rose Kringle and their daughter Jody.
But residents alive at the time say the accident happened on a small strip of land crossing a marshy creek area - there's not actually a "Siren Bridge."
Regardless of the details, this is one creepy story founded in verifiable fact and that's enough to keep me far, far away.
Now that is way scarier than any made up story could ever be. Have you ever experienced paranormal activity around the site of the crash?
