If you’re in Madison, you may have passed by or even gotten your morning fix at the amazing Porter coffee shop. Located in a converted train depot, it’s a gorgeous little spot with tons of character. But did you know that on weekend nights, this spot transforms into a unique, exclusive supper club?
Please note, Porter Coffee is temporarily closed.
Porter is this gorgeous, charming spot tucked away in an old train depot. Lots of local folks wondered what would happen to the building and Porter has taken over as the perfect coffee cafe.
The cafe has an industrial vibe as it serves up great coffee drinks alongside a small menu of food items.
But what makes this spot so very awesome is that on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights, Porter transforms after hours into an exclusive dining experience.

There are spots for just 15 people at each sitting. The meals are sometimes collaborations with chefs from local restaurants. and other times the brainchild of Chef Gilbert Altschul of Grampa's Pizzeria. For $50, diners are treated to a five-course feast.

The menu is set and posted on Mondays and reservations open. Then, you get to wait until the end of the week to anticipate your wonderful meal. The food is fresh and inventive and the whole thing is a super exclusive experience.
The meals make use of seasonal ingredients and showcase the very best of the chefs involved.
Chefs are at their best when they are allowed freedom to play and create in the kitchen. These meals often allow local chefs to break out of whatever constraints their current job has and do something completely different — but still delicious.

It's a totally intimate affair where you get to interact with the chef, see your food being made, and share the one-of-a-kind dining experience with just a handful of people.
Though plenty of locals know about the supper club, it's still an idea that many haven't heard of yet.
