Way up north, about 20 miles south of the Upper Peninsula and near Sayner and Boulder Junction is Fallison Lake. There are a ton of beautiful lakes in this area, but this one has a gorgeous nature trail surrounding it. There are a few different trail options that go around bogs or the lake, but the longest loop that lets you explore it all is just 2.5 miles.

According to the DNR: "This trail rolls through a mixed coniferous-deciduous forest of balsam, red pine, white pine, sugar maple, white birch and large-toothed and trembling aspen. The trail crosses bogs on the southwest and northeast sides and a hemlock glade on the south side. Watch for signs of beaver activity along the trail and along the shore. Loons, osprey and eagles are often seen on or around Fallison Lake."

There is no fee or pass required to visit this trail and view the gorgeous lake it circles. As you move around the trail, you'll get various glimpses of Fallison Lake through the trees and it's like you're spying on the most peaceful bits of nature you've ever seen.
