We are tantalizingly close to the warm weather making its yearly return. Sure, there are probably a few more cold days in our future, the calendar is about to turn to April and the warmth and fun of summer are very definitely on the horizon. Warmer weather and the summer months mean a few of our very favorite seasonal restaurants will be open and ready for business. Many are perched on the water or in typically tourist towns and they positively scream summer. If these places are open, you know it’s time to unwind.
1. The Freckled Frogg - Waupaca
Open from late May through the end of September, this cozy little cafe has a rotating menu that makes the most of the bounty of the land around them. Fresh ingredients from local farms star in the daily offerings and make this a great spot for summer lunches. Located at N2729 County Rd QQ, Waupaca, WI 54981.
2. American Legion Post 67 Burger Stand - Lake Mills
This little shack right on the sidewalk in Lake Mills serves up some of the tastiest burgers you've ever had. Sliders go on sale at 10am and sell until 8pm or until supplies run out. Hamburgers are just $2.25 while Cheeseburgers are $2.50. Located at 129 S Main St, Lake Mills, WI 53551
3. Paul Bunyan's Cook Shanty - Minocqua
A Wisconsin favorite, the Minocqua outpost starts serving again in late April and stays open til the end of September. Whether you're headed for a hearty breakfast or the famous Friday Fish Fry, there's tons of reasons to head to Paul Bunyan's once it repoens for the season. 4. Clearwater Harbor - Waupaca
Of course there's the awesome boat rides, but the Taylor Lake waterfront, amazing live music and delicious food are what keep this place jumping from mid-April through September. There's nothing better than chilling on their dock and wasting away a summer day. Located at N2757 County Hwy QQ, Waupaca, WI 54981.
5. Pete's Hamburger Stand - Prairie du Chien
Pete's will re-open on April 27 this year. Not just any old hamburger stand, Pete's has been doing this for more than 100 years. The burgers are simmered with the onions, giving them an amazing flavor and making this one of those openings that people wait all year for. Located at 118 W Blackhawk Ave, Prairie du Chien, WI 53821.
6. Tiki Beach Bar - Mosinee
These folks have 500 feet of sandy beachfront on Lake Du Bay.. Drive your boat up or cruise on over for the very best of sand and sun meets drinks and dinner. They reopen on May 2 and close down mid-September. Located at 1126 County Road DB, Mosinee WI.
7. Kiltie Drive-In - Oconomowoc
There is no official opening date for The Kiltie. You'll know their open when the flags start flying. This old-school drive in has been at it since the '60s. Summer in Lake Country means a stop at The Kiltie for burgers and ice cream and seeing all your friends. They'll reopen when they wanna and close in mid-September.

8. Pelletier's - Fish Creek
No place is more synonymous with the fish boil then Pelletier's. They also do breakfast and lunch every day until 2:30. But it's the fish boil you'll be coming here for. They'll reopen for Mother's Day weekend and then be open for the 2018 season starting on May 18.
