The absolute perfect place to spend a fall weekend has been found and it turns out it’s been waiting all along right there in Trempealeau. Ecker’s Apple Farm is a quirky and delightful little spot with spectacular scenery, 20 different kinds of apples, blueberries, morels, peaches, bees, live music and an outdoor beer garden that looks like the backyard I would build in my dreams. They feature pick-your-own apples each September and an orchard market chock full of specialty foods including their gourmet caramel and from-scratch apple pies. Ecker’s Apple Farm is basically perfection and you have to visit.
They call their craft beer garden here "Hog's Back Brew Farm." It's open from July through October; Fridays 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturdays 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Situated on the scenic and beautiful Great River Road in the heart of the Driftless Region, Ecker's Apple Farm features stunning views of the old north bank of the might Mississippi. The folks here are committed to leading a sustainable life and business and they hope their beer garden can grow into a brewery that will use rainwater for cleaning and locally grown ingredients in the beer.
The idea is to enjoy the very best beer that can be found from around the country in a peaceful, relaxing setting. You'll often find live music, but there's also fire pits, cornhole and other yards games and comfy spots to relax with friends to enjoy a quality pint.
Ecker's Beer Garden looks like something out of a picture book, with stunning surroundings that turn a riot of colors in the fall and a backdrop of beautiful sunsets. It's kind of like the backyard you'd build yourself if you had nothing but money and space. It's warm and welcoming and invites you to kick back and relax with friends and a good drink.
With stunning westerly views over the Mississippi River Valley, you'll get great views of the sunset and beautiful sights like this pretty much every night.
The yard and beer garden are welcoming and cozy and the perfect place to meet friends, have a date and just relax and unwind. It feels just like hanging out in someone's really great backyard.
There's nothing not to love about this space that will really give you all the fall feelings. You'll get a chance to enjoy changing leaves and the orchard itself is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., so you can come to nab some apples or stock up on delicious treats from the Orchard Market before settling in out back.
Ercker's is first and foremost an apple farm, so while you could get this outdoor beer garden experience elsewhere, here you get to be a part of a working, sustainable orchard. The smell of fall is in the air here as you bite into a Honeycrisp or maybe a caramel apple.
Here's a fully accessible orchard tram that will take you around to see the farm operation.
Ecker's is basically Wisconsin autumn perfection, with fresh, crisp apples you can pick, delicious bakery to sample, stunning views of changing leaves and topped off with a beer in a great locale.
Take part in the creation of cider, ride the train, take in the leaves, buy some apples, sample some bakery and basically turn this visit into the perfect Wisconsin fall day that's wrapped up with some of the best beer in the best location you'll ever enjoy.
Ecker’s Apple Farm is located at W27062 WI-54, Trempealeau, WI 54661. You can learn more about this charming, beautiful orchard on their website or by visiting their Facebook page .
