We’ve told you about the charming, historic small town of Mineral Point before. One of Wisconsin’s oldest towns, this wonderful small town outside of Madison was once the home of Cornish miners who came to the area to mine tin. Those settlers headed west looking for gold and left behind a pre-Civil War town that’s become a haven for artists and creatives. Mineral Point is a great place for a weekend away and the perfect place to stay while you’re there is the Brewery Creek Inn and Cottages.
Located in an giant limestone building that was built in 1854, the inn itself has five rooms to rent, as well as two small cottages. The Miner’s cottage is also made with local limestone and has been continually occupied since it was built in the 1840s.
Please note, Brewery Creek is no longer in business.
Not only do you get to spend the night at a brewery, with access to beers you can only get here, but you get to stay in some gorgeous, historical buildings that pre-date the Civil War and the founding of our state.
There's so much history in Mineral Point and this inn has been nationally recognized as not only an important part of the town, but as one of the best places in the country to spend a night.
The list of places that have given Brewery Creek recognition is long and prestigious. The rooms are comfortable and wonderful mix of old and new, with the limestone bricks playing a big part, but wifi, jetted tubs, and other amenities adding a modern touch.
The cottages offer privacy and date back to before Wisconsin was a state. They were built by the people who came here to work in the mines, making them unlike any other place you've ever stayed.
This stone Miners’ Cottage has been lived in continuously since it was built about 1836. What a treat to get to spend a night or two in a place so chock full of history.
A stay at Brewery Creek includes breakfast and then you have the ability head right downstairs to the brewpub to enjoy a varied and amazing menu. Try a traditional Cornish pasty and sample a beer or two.
Specializing in solely European-style beers, the owners here had grandiose plans for a big distribution brewery, but ultimately scaled back to the few specialized beers they have on tap in the brewpub.
Even if you can't spend the night, there's no better place to relax and unwind after a day exploring Mineral Point. Enjoy the spectacular menu and sip a few beers to end out your night.
