Sure, everyone is aware of all those big, expensive parks up in the Dells. But did you know that plenty of small towns have their own aquatic centers that are just there waiting for you to take advantage?
Up in Manitowoc, right on Lake Michigan, you’ll find a stellar waterpark complete with waterslides, a lazy river, floor fountains, a sandy beach area and mini golf – all for just $4 for adults and $3.50 for kids. It’s a complete hidden gem and one you won’t want to miss out on this summer.
The Manitowoc Family Aquatic Center is the perfect place to beat the heat without breaking the bank. This gorgeous location features a large zero-depth area for the little ones. The pool is heated and there's plenty of excitement to keep older kids busy.
It turns out Wisconsin is home to quite a few really impressive local, public pools and aquatic centers, Manitowoc is one of the best. This spot has a bit of everything to keep the whole family having fun.
There are many, many different things to love about this amazing public space, but foremost is the price. Admission is just $4 for adults, $3.50 for kids ages 3-17 and seniors age 55 and up. Children age 2 and younger are free.
There are two impressive water slides, plus a drop slide. After you've raised your heart rate with those, head on over to the lazy river for a bit of floating and relaxation.
When you're feeling a little soggy from all the water, take a break and head next door to the 18-hole mini golf course. A round of 18 is $5 on its own, or you can purchase an Aquatic/Golf Combo for just $6.00 for kids and $7.00 adults.
There's literally no better way to spend a hot summer day than at Manitowoc Family Aquatic Center. It's fun for the whole family and it's incredibly budget friendly. If you live in the area and will go back again and again, it's definitely worth checking out the season passes.
This gorgeous and fun water park opens the first week of June and closes the final full weekend of August. It's open from 12:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and on Sundays. On Friday and Saturday:, they're open from 12:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
When everyone is feeling too cooped up in the house and the temps are up in the 80's and 90's, there's no better way to cool off and have some fun than this awesome spot.
