With unseasonably warm weather lingering in the state, getting out to enjoy the benefits of fall is even more appealing. Sure, we’re all longing a bit for sweater weather. But there’s something really nice about not having to layer up in order to pick a pumpkin. The leaves are changing, the apples and pumpkins are ready for picking and there’s plenty to do this fall that celebrates this wonderful state. Here are 11 things you can head out to do where you should definitely bring your camera:
1. Head to The Great Pumpkin Chuckin Fest in Racine.
There's something delightfully weird and entertaining about seeing who can catapult a pumpkin the furthest. In addition to that competition, there will be a carnival, entertainment stages, hay rides and more. Takes place Saturday, October 23 from 10 am to 6 pm at the Racine County Fairgrounds, 19805 Durand Ave. Free Admission and Parking!

3. Ride the Dells Pumpkin Train.
These folks have a 15-gauge light railway that runs every Saturday and Sunday in October from 10 am - 4 pm every hours on the hour. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for children. Every child under the age of 12 goes home with a free pumpkin.

4. Go Apple Picking at Erickson Orchard.
These folks have fresh fruit year-round and know what they're doing. Pick your own or choose from already picked apples. Apple cider to go and apple cider doughnuts are must-grabs. Located at 86600 Betzold Rd, Bayfield, WI 54814.
5. Wander the Schuster's Farm Corn Maze.
This 20-acre maze is open until 10 pm on weekends and they also have a haunted forest for the older kids. In addition to the maze, there is a pumpkin patch, animals, gemstone mining, pig races, a candy cannon and more. Open from 9 am to 6 pm on weekdays and 10 am to 6 pm on weekends through Oct. 31. The forest has special hours and some activities are only set up on the weekends. During the week, the maze is $6, but $10 on the weekends. The forest is $18-20 and the flashlight maze is $6. 6. Stock up on fall goodies at Elegant Farmer in Mukwonago.
Their apple pie is legendary and they bring out even more fall fruit and vegetable flavored goodies for the season. A great spot to fulfill your sweet tooth. Located at 1545 Main St, Mukwonago, WI 53149.
7. Hike the state parks.

10. Pick yourself a pumpkin at Polly's Pumpkin Patch.
Aside from the seeming miles and miles of pumpkins, these folks have a corn maze, a family activity center and everything you could want to make a perfect family fall day. Located at N4367 WI-57, Chilton, WI 53014.
