Cambridge is a small town in the south central part of the state where state highways 12 and 18 intersect east of Madison. With about 1,500 residents, it’s a small, charming town that has come to be known for pottery and as a bit of an artist colony. With a quaint downtown and one of the most amazing Christmas celebrations you’ve ever experienced, Cambridge is the perfect, lovely, delightful little Wisconsin town.
Cambridge is located very near to Lake Ripley and enjoying the bounty of the gorgeous surrounding land is one of the big draws to this area.
The 422-acre CamRock park system features an abundance of trails and is a mountain biker's dream. It's a giant, welcoming spot to experience all kinds of outdoor fun.
Pottery put Cambridge on the map of charming destinations starting in the late 1980s when the community carried the title of "salt glaze pottery capital of the world." Now there are a number of pottery studios in the area. Come to learn a thing or two, try your hand or just shop for some stunning pieces.

Main street looks out of a storybook and in winter, the village celebrates a Dickensian, Victorian Christmas. You've never seen so much old world charm in one spot. From carriage rides to carolers and more, the locals embrace how positively delightful their town is and welcome folks in from all over.
Learn about life on a family-owned and operated farm at Hinchley Dairy Farm. From April to October, schedule a farm tour that includes the chance to hand milk a cow, pet and feed barnyard animals, and take a tractor ride through the farm fields to see the corn, soybeans, wheat, alfalfa and free pumpkins in the fall. The tour is hands on and family friendly.
After a hard day on the farm or just strolling around town, check out Plow restaurant, a spot that puts a a lot of stock in being truly farm-to-table. Their location is a 1847 feed mill and the food is spectacular. There's also Mink Farm Tavern, so named for the original restaurant that opened here in 1936.
Adults will love a trip to Cambridge Winery. In addition to having some truly tasty wines, the building is stunning. In summer, use the outdoor space while sipping away. In winter, the floor to ceiling windows provide all the scenery with a whole lot less cold. The Cambridge location is open Wednesday - Thursday from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Saturday from 12:00 pm - 9:00 pm and Sunday from 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm.
Or maybe recover from a day exploring the otudoors with a few drinks at the newly opened Dancing Goat Distillery. Tasting room hours are Thursday and Friday from 2 pm - 6 pm and Saturday from 12 pm - 6 pm.
Though it's just a small spot on our map, Cambridge has quite a bit of history. Both Ole Evinrude and Arthur Davidson (of Harley-Davidson) called Cambridge home in the late 1800s. More recently, it's the home of race car driver Matt Kenseth.
