Sometimes you just need a little sugar rush — that afternoon or morning pick me up of delicious baked goodness that helps you get through your day. These certainly aren’t all the wonderful bakeries in Wisconsin, but they are some of our favorites from all across the state. Whether you’re looking for fresh bread or a morning snack or something more elaborate for a special event, these folks provide some of the tastiest, most beautiful sweet treats you could ever imagine. In no particular order, here are 15 wonderful Wisconsin bakeries:
1. Rosie's Coffee Bar and Bakery — Madison
There's nothing better than a steaming cup of coffee and a little sweet treat to start your day and Rosie's is perfect for that. Located at 4604 Monona Dr., Madison, Wisconsin 53716.
2. Manderfield's Bakery — Appleton and Menasha
These folks are legendary up in the paper valley area. They've been baking for decades and are a local favorite. No one can leave Manderfield's empty-handed — there's something for everyone. Three locations in Appleton East, Appleton West, and Menasha.
3. Norske Nook — Osseo
I cheated one or two times on this list and included spots that aren't just bakeries — but if you've ever had a Norske Nook pie, you'll totally understand and give me some leniency. They've won numerous national awards for their pies and they still have the same group of folks back in the kitchen making them from scratch that they did decades ago. It's literally the stuff grandma used to make. Locations in Osseo, Rice Lake, Hayward, and DeForest.
4. Greenbush Bakery — Madison
There are a ton of different options in Madison these days, but for me, Greenbush will always be something of the original. 5. Wayne's Family Restaurant — Oconto
Apparently great pies are what gets me to make an exception. Though lots of folks know and love Norske Nook, too few of you have visited and enjoyed Wayne's in Oconto. These folks absolutely mop up at national pie competitions. This small, unassuming little spot makes some of the most amazing pies you'll ever have the pleasure of tasting. They're totally worth planning a trip to visit.
Located at 805 Brazeau Ave, Oconto, WI 54153.
