Algoma Wisconsin is one of those places – it delivers a relaxing getaway you won’t forget. It’s one of our favorite small towns in Wisconsin to escape to for the weekend.

Algoma, pop. 3,100. is located in Kewaunee County, right on the western shore of Lake Michigan. It’s a walkable town with many older businesses and Victorian-style homes. If you take an early morning walk, you’ll be treated to a gorgeous sunrise.

Algoma is a longtime fishing town. European settlers founded the city in the 1800s and by the early 1900s, it had the largest commercial fishing fleet on Lake Michigan. It’s still a big fishing town – charters take visitors out for days of offshore action.
