The story of Franks Diner begins back in 1926. Antony Franks launched the diner after reading about the business opportunity in a magazine article. The diner building was constructed by the Jerry O’Mahony company in New Jersey, and it was shipped to Kenosha on a railroad flatcar. In Kenosha, horses were used to move the diner into position.
Over the years, the diner has served celebrities like The Three Stooges, Lawrence Welk, Duke Ellington, and Liberace. It has also served scores of people who just wanted some delicious and comforting food.
The menu has everything you need to start the day, including heaping “Garbage Plates” that offer eggs, hash browns, cheese, meat, and a lot of deliciousness.
While the diner has an awesome breakfast, lunch here is not too shabby either. Choose from a great selection of soups and chili, sandwiches, and burgers. For a real treat, order an egg on top of your burger. It’s delicious!
