Vacation rentals are popping up in the most surprising places, and one rural getaway is tucked into a place that most people – and cows – could not imagine. The Corn Crib Tiny Cabin is a Wisconsin tiny home like no other. Imaginative owners have transformed this little farm structure into a cozy getaway that has to be seen to be believed. Read on to learn more about this remarkable Wisconsin tiny home.
This tiny cabin is located in Helenville, in the beautiful rolling countryside of southern Wisconsin. It's an easy escape from places like Milwaukee and Madison.
The cabin is definitely tiny. It's less than 100 square feet, smaller than some walk-in closets, but the owners have done a great job maximizing the space. For example, it has a sleeping loft.
You can almost forget that this was once a building that dried corn for cattle feed. Did you know these types of structures were first created by Native Americans and later adopted by European immigrants?
While this corn crib is very comfortable, it's obviously nothing like a big city hotel. This is more of a camping experience. For example, water is piped over from the barn's roof-filtered rain water system, and running water is only available in the bathroom sink. The bathroom is a composting toilet/outhouse.
But you can run hot water or crank up the air conditioning to your heart's content when you're back home. This is a place to experience fresh air and nature and slow down with a getaway on an old farm.
Guests are welcome to stroll the grounds, and there’s a fire pit outside. Relax, take in a night full of stars; and when you’re ready to turn in, step into the corn crib!
