Waterfall Road Trip In Wisconsin
Are there any Wisconsin waterfalls that are easy to access?
Viewing a waterfall doesn’t mean you have to embark on a long, strenuous hike. There are several worthwhile falls in Wisconsin that require very little or no hiking. A great example is Lost Creek Falls. Hidden in the small community of Cornucopia at the northern end of the Bayfield Peninsula, it’s pretty remote. Luckily, Lost Creek Falls can be easily accessed via a 1.5-mile trail. Not only is the flowing cascade absolutely beautiful, but it boasts another unique feature – you can actually walk behind it, which is pretty uncommon for waterfalls around Lake Superior.
Where can I see several waterfalls in one place?
There are many locales in the Badger State where cascading falls are plentiful, and Amnicon Falls State Park is one such place. Basically a dream come true for waterfall-seekers, the park’s South Range boasts four waterfalls. In addition to the park’s namesake falls, Upper Amnicon Falls and Lower Amnicon Falls, the park is home to Now and Then Falls and Snake Pit Falls. The Upper and Lower Falls as well as Now and Then Falls are almost immediately accessible from the parking areas. Snake Pit Falls can be reached by hiking a short 1/4-mile trail. Many of the waterfalls have pools beneath them, which are perfect for swimming, so if visiting on a warm day, remember to bring your swimsuit.
