The very best part of summer in Wisconsin is when all the fresh fruits and vegetables start to ripen. There’s simply nothing better than fresh, juicy, plump strawberries fresh from the vines. Cedarburg, just north of Milwaukee, is one of the most adorable, quaint, historic towns in Wisconsin. They celebrate the summer solstice with a strawberry festival and you’re going to want to check it out.
This is truly a city of festivals and they know how to throw a party.
Washington Avenue is closed to everything but foot traffic. It gets lined with stall after stall selling crafts, goodies and everything strawberry you could imagine you'd want to eat.

There is actually a winery right in the middle of Washington Avenue in a gorgeous, historic mill.
Cedar Creek Winery makes special strawberry wine for the festival and as you can imagine, it's quite popular. But don't be afraid to taste their other offerings, as well.

The festival features live music, as well. This year it will focus on blues music as they host the Blues Bash.
Known as Arts on the Avenue, there will be all kinds of original artwork available for purchase. You'll be hard pressed to find someone walking away from this festival empty-handed.
Located just across the creek from the main festival, you'll also find events happening in Cedar Creek Park.
This is where you'll find fun for the little ones. The creek is home to one of the most popular events of the weekend - the CedarQuack500. Hundreds of rubber ducks race down the creek to the finish line.
There are strawberry pie-eating contests, pony rides, hayrides and so much more to keep your family entertained.
This old-school street festival is a ton of fun for everyone in the family. It's a must-visit part of summer in Wisconsin.
