One of the great things about Wisconsin is that there are tons of towns insulated from the craziness of the city. They tend to have nice folks, nice scenery, and a sense of safety. They might not be the most advanced, but that’s definitely why we like them. Here are some of the best slow-paced towns in Wisconsin.
1. Gays Mills
In the driftless area of Wisconsin, nestled among steeply chiseled bluffs, is the town of Gays Mills. This town is known for its apples, but you will also be charmed by its open meadows and glassy creeks.
2. Lynxville
Located along the Great River Road, Lynxville is just off of one of the wildest stretches of the Mississippi. But that's the craziest thing going on here. It's a small town with really nice people. In fall and spring, people are very interested in watching for various waterfowl.
3. Elmwood
Just along the Eau Galle River, Elmwood is a small town that has been host to some strange and unexplained happenings. Each year, the town has "UFO Days," which sounds like the best festival ever.
