When in Madison, there’s no better place to enjoy the best meal of the day (we’re talking about breakfast, of course) than Short Stack Eatery.
Basically dining with a purpose, the eatery places a lot of focus on giving back to the community – and that’s in addition to serving up simple, fresh breakfast favorites.
Breaking the chain of chain restaurants, Short Stack Eatery features a charming interior – complete with antique furniture, fresh flowers on the tables, and other delightful touches.
Available in a multitude of flavors, the pancakes are sure to please. And if you can’t decide which to order, go with the Sweet Potato Oatmeal Stack – it’s a customer favorite.
When ordering, you can only ask one question – Is it sweet or savory? If you’re up for a bit of detective work, you can follow the eatery on Facebook, where you’ll find some tasty teasers about upcoming specials.
And if you absolutely can’t stand the suspense, you can ask what’s in it and pay $11 for the special, rather than $7, which is the price for those who take the plunge and order it blindly.
Of course, there’s more to the menu than pancakes and the Blind Special. The tasty offering includes all sorts of breakfast favorites – from eggs Benedict and breakfast burritos to quiche and corned beef hash.
Breakfast potatoes are also part of the fare – and are served with a blend of Frank’s Red Hot sauce and sour cream for dipping. The combo may sound odd at first, but it’s a huge hit among diners.
