If you’re looking for a state park that’s got it all, look no further than High Cliff State Park. The nearly 1,200-acre park is steeped in both beauty and history. And with miles upon miles of trails, you can easily explore all of the park’s perks, which include huge rock formations, waterfront views, vibrant flora and foliage, and historic ruins…to name a few. Tucked away in the tiny village of Sherwood, High Cliff State Park is often overlooked, but that’s a huge mistake.
The only formation of its kind in the world, the Niagara Escarpment is considered one of Wisconsin’s 7 wonders – and you’ll be afforded up-close views during your trek.
Remember, the Lime Kiln Trail is just one of the park's many treks. Some other popular paths include The Butterfly Pond Trail, Forest Management Trail, and Indian Mound Trail.
With incredible vistas, loads of history, and seemingly endless recreational opportunities, there really is something for everyone at High Cliff State Park.
