Wyalusing State Park is located in far western Wisconsin, at the confluence of the Wisconsin and Mississippi Rivers. It’s located in the town of Wyalusing, just south of Prairie du Chien.

The park has a long and storied history. Wyalusing means "home of the warrior" in the Lenape language spoken by Munsee-Delaware tribes who moved here in the 1800s after being displaced from lands out east. Native American mounds in the park reflect an even longer history.

There are many scenic loop trails worth exploring, but one of the best is the Sugar Maple Trail. The hike covers less than two miles but it will take you to a wonderful site.
