Located in Kenosha, Petrifying Springs Park is one of the oldest parks in Kenosha County.

It’s also one of the best and most beautiful!

Known to locals simply as “Pets,” the 360-acre park offers a wide range of enjoyment for visitors of all ages…and species.

The grounds boast traditional park amenities, such as a playground and a designated area for four-legged residents.

One of the park’s most notable features, though, is its artesian well, which dispenses pure, natural spring water. Make sure to bring some jugs and head over to the fill house to stock up on some spring water.

The park’s perks also include an 18-hole golf course and a natural hardwood forest – both of which are brimming with colorful foliage in the fall.

Miles of trails wind through the park, making it easy to take in the rolling landscape and all of its stunning features.

Offering year-round fun, the well-maintained paths are ideal for hiking, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing. There’s also a lighted sledding trail.

Wildlife viewing is another of the park’s perks. And with owl boxes, wood duck boxes, and a squirrel playground, sightings are practically guaranteed.

One of the park's most unexpected - yet appreciated - features is definitely its Biergarten.

Unlike the park, which is open year-round, the Biergarten is open Memorial Day – October.
