A gorgeous fall experience is ripe for the picking in southeast Wisconsin. Apple Holler is a family-friendly apple orchard that is fun for all ages – it even has horse-drawn orchard tours. Get ready to bite into something crisp and delicious – here’s what’s waiting for you at Apple Holler.
Apple Holler is located in Sturtevant, a village in Racine County. It’s an easy autumn day trip destination from just about anywhere in southeast Wisconsin, including Milwaukee, Racine, and Kenosha.
The orchard land has a long history as a farm. In 1970 the farm was purchased by an apple grower who planted hundreds of apple trees and several kinds of berries.
In 1987, Dave and Vicki Flannery bought the property and created a huge fall destination. They planted a large pumpkin patch, transformed an old dairy barn into a cozy restaurant, and planted thousands of fruit trees.
There’s also a huge farm store and shop that sells fresh apple cider, fruit pies, fruit butter, bakery, popcorn, jam, salsa, hand-dipped caramel apples, and more.
The narrated ride includes a visit with goats, a stop at the country store, a crackling campfire, and an interesting talk on the orchard’s apple-growing operations.
Learn more about the orchard and the wagon ride experience on the Apple Holler website. Once you’ve taken in the amazing fall wonders of the Apple Holler orchard, gas up your car and get ready for adventure: here are some of the most amazing fall destinations in the state.
