Bloomer is small town north of Eau Claire that folks who head up north are familiar with but might otherwise escape your notice. This small town on Lake Como is a gorgeous spot that has a lot of the appeal of places further north but is a bit easier to get to for folks in the southern part of the state. It’s also a popular spot for motorcyclists and snowmobile riders. And tucked into this out-of-the way spot you’ll find a bar and grill with one of the most outrageous menus you’ve ever seen. The Next Place is a no-nonsense spot serving up some of the best food you’ve ever tasted.
They say that a longer a restaurant's menu is, the more awful everything will taste as it's impossible for them to master all those different dishes. Well, that idea goes out the window at Next Place since the menu is many pages long, but it's all a riff on the same tasty, simple idea: a delicious hamburger.
The different things these folks have dreamed up to put on a burger will make your mouth water and your head spin. It's nearly impossible to make a decision, so I'd start planning to head back before you've even left so you can try more than one.
There are five different bread choices and the options of homemade potato chips or beer-battered fries. Every 1/3 lb patty is flame-grilled so it's full of flavor.
There are pizza burgers and burgers on Texas Toast. There are pretzel buns and sourdough or rye. There are eight different cheese options and so many more different flavor combinations than you've ever imagined.
There's something so great about a place perfecting an amazing, mouthwatering, grilled to perfection burger and then riffing on it in every way possible. There's no need to have miles and miles of menu options when you do something this well.
No matter what you like, you'll find something you want to try at Next Place. It's the perfect spot to stop in for a hearty, filling and unusual meal unlike any you've had before.
