The festival takes place in the tiny Monroe County community of Warrens, pop. 363. The community is located right off of Interstate 94, just north of Tomah, and it’s a doable day trip from much of Wisconsin.
Wisconsin is a national leader in cranberry production and Warrens is ground zero for this tangy fruit. It’s surrounded by some massive marshes that are flooded each year for the cranberry harvest. They explode in a brilliant shade of red.
The festival include over three miles of shopping and 1,300 booths – there’s an enormous arts & crafts fair, a huge antiques and flea market, and a farm market loaded with lots of cranberry items.
When you arrive in Warrens, arrive hungry. There’s a ton of great food for sale, including cranberries jubilee, cranberry cream puffs, deep fried cranberries on a stick, pancakes with cranberry syrup and more!
