Milwaukee is home to much greenery, art, and hidden gems—but this spot encapsulates all three. Have you ever wanted to walk through a magical garden? This unique art and nature experience in Milwaukee is absolutely stunning and incredibly informative as well! Get ready to get lost upon dozens and dozens of monumental art sculptures at this Milwaukee hidden gem.
The land that is now Lynden Sculpture Gardens was once the home of Harry and Peg Bradley, who purchased the house and land in 1927. Peg was an art collector and began gathering these modern monumental sculptures in 1962.
As an experienced art collector, Lynden earned an international reputation, and she invited artists to add to her collection, which features sculptures from famous names such as Mark di Suvero, Alexander Archipenko, and many others.
The sculpture garden opened to the public in 2010. There are Sunday tours available if you'd like to learn more about the history of the sculptures from a guide, or there are self-guided tours available if you'd prefer to trek alone!
A core value of Lynden Sculpture Garden is art education and appreciation. They offer summer camps for kids and art workshops or nature programs to get hands-on experience and learn about the importance of intersectionality between art and nature.
This unique experience lets you enjoy art and appreciate nature all in one.
From the lake to the woodlands, Lynden is committed to the natural ecology of the site just as much as they're committed to the appreciation of the art.
There's simply no better way to have a magical and educational evening.
