Located in Lake Park, this building is the oldest in the area. The Queen Anne-style architecture is preserved to this day, surrounded by two acres of wooded land.

Before it was decommissioned in 1994, the North Point Lighthouse was a major contributor to Milwaukee's economic growth. Waterways were once used as highways between cities, and none of this would have been possible without lighthouses such as North Point.

Not only is the lighthouse itself drawing in visitors, Lake Park holds a strong significance to Milwaukee.
Milwaukee's East Side is a neighborhood loved by many, and we're all familiar with the beauty of Lake Park. Some might not know that the park was conceived by Frederick Law Olmsted, a famous 19th century landscape architect who also designed New York's Central Park.
Today, the Keepers Quarters doubles as a museum, teaching visitors about the life of those who maintained the lighthouse and the history of the Great Lakes.
You'll find everything from original lighthouse ledgers, to artifacts from significant events in Milwaukee maritime history, as well as the story behind the lights.

North Point Lighthouse Friends, Inc. is a group of volunteers dedicated to preserving the history of the Lighthouse. In 2007, they undertook a complete restoration of the buildings so that we can visit it today.
